Cousins!

This week my brother and his family were passing through and we got to spend some time together. I really miss seeing all my neices and nephews - 6 to be exact. The three girls - Kara, Katie, and Abby.

And the 3 boys - Quinton, Brett, and Andrew (it's hard to get these boys to stand still for a pic)

I feel like they change and grow up each time we see them. Selah loved being with her cousins, playing, being held, and giving hugs.

And of course Grandpa and Grandma had their hands full when all the grandkids were around!

St. Louis weekend

We got the opportunity to go to St. Louis with Tadd's family August 13-15th. It was a great time with family and quite the fun-packed weekend. We started off with Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor on Friday. It was around 104 degrees, so it was a good thing we were in the water 90% of the time. Around 4 pm we headed to the amusement park portion and soon this was the scene...

I love this picture because Finn looks like wants to say "oh my!"and Selah is completely cashed out. It was so hot we kept a cold rag under Finn as to not get him overheated and Selah like us was just pure sweat! She slept for an hour and then it was on to a few rides for her before heading back to the hotel. She was still half asleep, but enjoyed a few rides like a train, this balloon ride, and a minature version of the "Superman". Tadd ended up staying with the older kids to do some major rollercoaster riding, and I headed back with the rest of the fam with two tired kiddos. They did REALLY well for being out all day though.

Then on Sunday it was to an airconditioned place - The Magic House which was a children's museum. It was lots of fun. I love watching the grandparents just dive right in there with kids to have a good time. Grandpa helped watch kiddos and grandma could be found crawling through tunnels and all kids! The funniest part....the adults got pretty into the mystery solving, maybe more than Addy :) but...who did it you ask....our cousin Troy!! We were quite shock to see his picture amongst the suspects...who knew?! We finished off the day with the Incredible Pizza Company - a kid version of Dave and Busters or a glorified Chuck E Cheese to include mini bowling, golf carts, and mini golf. Selah dived right in with the rides and games. And of course we had to turn in her tickets to get her a mini carebear and squishy ball.

All in all it was a great weekend that ended way to quickly! Seemed like we had just packed up the car to leave and we were already heading home. Lots of good memories though.

Finn is 3 months!

Our little baby is 3 months already! He is becoming quite the little man. His personality continues to grow. He is still pretty laid back. He is super smiley and I love how when he smiles really big his tongue almost "clicks" the roof of his mouth...makes you smile every time! He is doing well sleeping and just last week was sleeping from 10 pm to 7:30 am but this week he has a cold so we are back to getting up during the night. He has also been taking some cereal in his bottle at night so that was helping him sleep really well.

His other new thing is the fact that he has been rolling over at night from his stomach to his back. I still haven't seen it during the day, but he does it all the time while he is sleeping. I was so excited at first, but now well....it has become a little bit of an issue at night. See when he rolls over it wakes him up and then he starts crying so not so great at night. I am open to any suggestions on figuring this out at night! Otherwise he still loves his sister who is always loving all over him. He loves to stand with help and soon will be in his Johnny Jumper for sure.

A sneak peak at Finn's room. The crib finally got moved in and even though he sleeps upstairs near us at night so far, his room is complete at last! It is themed with things on the go...one wall is all license plates and signs and you can find a lot of cars and trucks around. My favorite things: the trunk topped with a super soft blanket made by Grandma L, a book we got as a gift (thanks Caleb and Becky!), and the frames with the lastest pics of our little guy!

Changes are on the way!

So a couple weeks ago, big changes were taking place at our house. Rooms are a changin' Selah has had her big girl furniture since Christmas, but we finally got a mattress for her bed. So we moved her crib out into Finn's room and Selah is now sleeping in a twin bed! She was a little scared the first time, but after promising to let her sleep with her giant pink teddy bear (which brought the count up to about 5-6 stuffed animals in bed with her) she went to sleep. She still hasn't gotten out of bed and has been sleeping very well.

It is fun having a bedtime routine. She comes in and turns on her little owl light. We sit on her fuzzy green rug and read a Bible Story and Goodnight Moon and after prayers and goodnight kisses she hops in to bed. It is so bittersweet. She is becoming quite the big girl...going too fast in my opinion. We are trying to enjoy each and every moment of the different stages of life.

Tadd and I got to go to Chicago for the weekend as our first trip away from both kiddos overnight. While shopping we found this pink kitty cat similar to her previous kitty she sleeps with. After a little convincing, daddy couldn't turn down the chance to make his girl happy! She loves it and now sleeps with both kitties :)
