Growing by the minute...

Well, I could say almost 4 months, which she will be on Monday but not quite yet. Selah is growing like crazy though. Next Friday we go in for her 4-month checkup along with more shots, to which I am not looking forward to. I figured I was behind on pictures so I better post some. This weekend my sis (or at least who I consider the sister I never had) Jodi is getting married. We are looking forward to celebrating with Drew and Jod. This weekend as you know is the one-year anniversary of Laynie passing away (Feb. 1st) and any prayers you could send out for us would be greatly appreciated. I will probably write more about those feelings next week, as for now enjoy the pictures!


Yes, the thumb is still in the picture. She has now added a bigger no-no :) While sucking her thumb she places her hand on the back of her head and proceeds to pull a clump of hair. We are not sure if she is trying to make herself go bald or what. Of course when trying to explain this to Selah she just laughs and giggles at my "stern look" :)


Selah loves playing with toys. Everything goes into her mouth of course. She is really good at holding her hands together and loves putting them in her mouth also. Anything in her mouth causes her to start "talking" and kicking her legs. We love watching her get all excited and squirm around. No rolling over yet though!

Selah loves to act all grown up. She can fully lift her head off the floor, which she has done for a while now. She loves to "stand" in your lap if you hold her under her arms. She just flexes her leg muscles and can stand pretty upright. Now when she is in her car seat she pulls herself up towards her toys so she can play. No more laying down and relaxing, this girl wants to play!

And yes, she has really started laughing now. I will have to get more video. She is becoming ticklish too and it is such a riot getting her riled up.

And this picture is for my hubby whom I love. Nothing gives me more joy than to see the two loves of my life together. Selah is totally content to lay with daddy while "watching" TV. It is so cute. Selah just lays there usually holding Tadd's finger and looking over at him to see if he is enjoying it as much as she is. I love you hon - and you are an amazing father!!

We both truly are enjoying every minute. I know it may sound a little ridiculous, but as being somewhat new parents in this area of developement we love to see what Selah is going to do next. God has truly blessed me with being able to be a stay-at-home mom and soak up every minute. Time is flying by way too fast. It seems just yesterday that I was sitting in the back of our car looking at this tiny baby in her carseat on the way back from the hospital amazed that God would bless me yet again with a beautiful daughter, because He didn't have too, but I am thankful that He did... God is good!

New adventures

So I was thinking of what was new around here...

Well, Selah is teething more I think. She loves to have her gums rubbed and she is always chewing on her fingers. Lately she has become a little more crabby and hasn't been sleeping as well. She also has a slight fever so I think that is the verdict. Last night she got Tylenol and slept the night through again and today she has been doing well.

We also started giving her cereal in her bottle. I did it once before and she did fine, but was sleeping through the night so after a week decided to post-pone it for a while out of (I confess) pure laziness. So we have started doing that and like I said she slept through the whole night so she must have enjoyed a full belly.

On Saturday I had the privaledge of having my close friend Jodi's personal shower with 17 girls over and had a blast. It was lots of fun and hopefully everyone had a good time. Can't believe it is only 3 more weeks until the wedding!!

Selah continues to grow like a weed. My guess is she is around 14-15 lbs. She was 11 lbs. 15 oz. last checkup in Dec. and she goes back to the pediatrician on Feb. 6th so we will have to see. Her newest thing is folding her hands together. After a while she proceeds to put her hands into her mouth! She still continues to coo away and I am working on getting her to say "ma-ma" :) I think it may be a while yet. Knowing my luck she will still say "da-da" first anyways! We still try to get her to laugh. She has done a deep belly laugh once, but we have yet to get her to do it often. When she does it is so cute you can't help but laugh yourself. She loves to "stand" if you set her on her feet she kicks into a standing position and then smiles thinking she is soooo cool :)

God continues to bless us here each day. We have failed to catch all the sicknesses going around so that we are thankful for. Hope you all have a good week!

Updates on items for sale

Since I have been getting sizing requests please see the previous post, as I have added the sizes of totes that are available. Please note that the totes shown are only as examples and not all the material is available, but I guarantee we can find something just as cute! :)

Bows, purses, blankies, and more...

So, most of you know I used to do medical transcribing at home. When Laynie was in the hospital for the last time I decided to quit due to all the stress with the hospital and wanting to be with Laynie every minute. Since then I have been blessed to be able to stay at home with Selah. I also took a quilting class this summer and made my first quilt. I discovered a renewed love for sewing that I would love to share with others :) I now am willing to make the following products. I like to sew especially for others and what you want down to every detail. If you are interested in any of the following feel free to email me at tjgerst@hotmail.com I know many of you have been waiting for me to get the following details sent, but to tell you the truth I am embarrassed of these pictures. The picture quality does them no justice and some are hard to tell colors, etc.. but at least this will give you an idea of what I can do.

Here is my super cute model sporting a bow and headband :)

These are the basic hairbows made out of double ruffle ribbon and they can be made in different sizes depending on what you are looking for from 2-3 1/2 inches wide. They are $5-$6 depending on the size. I also have gerber daisy clips and assorted flower clips that are not shown. They range anywhere from $8-$10. It may be easiest to specify a certain color you are looking for or you are more than welcome to come over to my house and see for yourself!

These are the colors available for bows from left to right:
lemon grass, navajo turquoise, white, black, brown, shocking pink, cream, yellow, sherbet, grape, silver, navy, red, and chartreuse


These are the headbands that are available...colors from the top- yellow, taupe, light brown, dark brown, black, purple, shocking pink, pink, red, cream, and white. They are $5 each.

These are just one of the types of bags available. They are Amy Butler birdie sling bags that are great as a bag or as a diaper bag - these are both of mine :) The Amy Butler bag is $90. This bag's dimensions are 28" tall including handles x 18" wide.

This is a sample of a blankie I can make...the options are endless as far as colors go and patterns. They are $15. These are 12"x 12"

These are the burp rags and just a sample of the girl fabrics. I also have many boys fabrics to choose from. The patterns are in flannel and the backs are made of chenille. The cost is $6 each or 3 for $16.

These are a few samples of some more tote bags, once again fabric choices are endless, handles, and sizes. The totes range anywhere from $25 - $40 depending on fabric, personalization, closures, etc.. The totes with Addy/Brooks on them are approx. 17"tall x 14"wide x 4" deep.

The "Quinton" bag is 15" wide x 11.5" tall x 4" deep. The "Abby" bag is 13" wide x 9.5" tall x 4" deep. The "Kara" bag is 11" wide x 7.5" tall x 4" deep. These are all approximate dimensions. They can also be personalized with names if you would like.
