Busy Weekend

So it has been a while again since I've updated. Mostly I need to get Selah's latest "accomplishments" in here :) She now blows kisses when she says goodbye and most times doesn't even need to be cued. She also knows the answer to "what does the snake say?" to which she responds with a slobbery "sssss" She still is just walking around furniture, but no walking on her own yet. She also gives some great fully open-mouthed kisses now too :) We are loving every minute and looking forward to her birthday party in a month.

I have been sewing a little at home. I made her the dress pictured below and am in the process of making her a skirt for this winter. Grandma L. helped a lot and we got her birthday outfit completed - it is a super cute tutu and t-shirt...stay tuned for more pictures!

Besides that, we had a great Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday we got to travel to Mathessein Park/Starved Rock with friends and spent the day hiking and eating a picnic lunch. We took Addy and Brooks with us and Selah did great. She loved riding in the backpack and looking all around. She just talked and talked the whole time! Sunday we went on a double date with my "sister" Jod and her husband Drew. It was a great night to catch up with friends. And Monday we even had a great day of weather and got to take the boat out with more friends. We can't help but reflect at how blessed we are!

Selah shining moment :)

So to preface this clip a little...Selah as many know has been a little clingy lately and kind of whiney :) I know, hard to imagine. But there are times that I wonder if she is hitting her terrible 2's early! Come to find out after this was shot that she is now cutting through two more teeth on the top - that will make 12 before she is 1! Enjoy this clip - the ending is the best.

Kansas City MO

A couple weeks ago we got to go on a road trip with my mom and dad and brother Adam and his wife Kristen. We headed to Jasper, MO to visit my brother and his family. We had to stop half way there of course because it is 8 hours! I don't know how they drive straight through when they come see us, but we only did 4 hrs. at a time. We got to see their new house they built and then we all headed back to Kansas City to spend the weekend together in a hotel. We went to Union Station and enjoyed the planetarium and children's museum. The weekend was packed full, but we had a great time with all my nieces and nephews.

Hanging out in the awesome van - thanks Tony!

The newest picture of all the grandkids - another will be joining us in December!

We got to eat lunch at this resturant that gave all the kids train conductor hats. You ordered your food from a telephone at your table and then the food was delivered to your table by a train that traveled across the ceiling. Quite the experience!

This is Tadd at Science City trying to get this bike at a 90 degree angle. I just rode it regular of course, straight forward and back :)

Selah and daddy in the helicopter

We ate outside at the Cheesecake Factory and then the kids got balloons made from a vendor on the street - good times!

All the girls!

Playing in our hotel room

Selah was SO spoiled by the time the weekend was over - it took a few days to recover :) She loved playing with her cousins though and probably wished they could have come home with her to play....maybe some day she will get a sibling that she can play all day with...

Our trip to Galena

So I am VERY far behind in blogging, but now things have settled down so I am catching up. My birthday was on the 3rd of this month and our anniversary was on the 10th so Tadd and I got away for a night to Galena, IL. This was only the 2nd time we had left Selah overnight, but she did great as always for Grandma L. Tadd and I had a great time too. We took a nice quiet carriage ride through the downtown area and then ate at an Italian resturant. It has been 6 years already, which I am still in shock about. Overall, a wonderful trip enjoying each other's company :)
