Blue skies smiling at me...

Nothing but blue skies do I see.

Thursday afternoon we took off for an escape...to enjoy this. Nothing but blue skies.

And this picture of Barry and Selah captures the atmosphere of our night. Laughter, friendships, and enjoying God's pure beauty around us.

And of course it had to involve lots of fun and spoiling too. Sandwiches and pop! Pop is one of the words Selah was quick to pick up.Photobucket
And Selah even got in to enjoy the crystal clear water of the Illinois River! Don't worry we didn't let her blow bubbles or anything. But she did keep asking to get "in, in" We think she is going to definately share in her daddy's love for the water.

And it was little Finn's first boat ride! He enjoyed every minute of it. We even made him his own little cabana while we ate so he didn't soak up too many of the sun's rays.
Photobucket
And he got snuggled on all night long! True spoiling and lovin' at its best by Joyce. Photobucket
Overall it was an amazing evening. We love you Joyce and Barry! And to top it off Finn slept his first straight 7 1/2 hours during the night.
I think this means we are going to have to do some more evenings like this soon !

Swimming Lessons

Selah is taking swim lessons this year for the first time by Meika and Katie. I took these on the first day, which was her best day...meaning no crying :) She really does love to swim and so far when with us, is not afraid of the water at all. This year she is learning to kick, blow bubbles, and work on her front and back floats. Today she even got to "swim" to me. She really did well for only being 1 1/2. She jumped off the diving board twice too. At this rate she will be swimming in no time!
This picture makes me smile..isn't she just so cute waiting for her class to begin.

Of course the actual year as to when we will allow her to ski with Tadd or by herself is still up for discussion. So don't ask, it is a sore subject :) I am still a little protective in that regard. She doesn't need to grow up that fast!

What a man!

We had a full Father's Day weekend with both sides of the family, but of course I couldn't go without posting a few pictures of my man. And what an amazing father he is to our kids. We love you!!

A day in the life

Selah (a.k.a. the photographer) I caught her in action the other night. Tadd and I both found it very humerous that she was setting her babies up for a photo op. We have been letting her use my old camera as her own :) Notice how it is backwards!
Photobucket
We continue to love watching Selah and Finn interact. She has become quite the helper bringing up his "burp" rags and pacifier. She gets quite concerned if she hears him cry which isn't too much :)

Our little guy is getting so big! He has really started smiling and almost cooing. He loves his swing and continues showing off by how good he is. No fussing here :) He is so laid back and such a good baby. The sleeping at night still could be a little longer. He is up about every 4 hours still. But no complaints here. We can't wait to hear him start cooing more and catch it on video.

Memorial Day 2010

Things have been a little busy around here lately. We got the chance to go to Indiana over Memorial Day weekend this year with the Grusy family - Tadd's mom's side of the family. We hadn't all gotten together for over a year. Although we missed Dustin and Aaron and Kim we had a great time. The family dynamics have definately changed, as there were a lot of little ones around this year. It was great spending time hanging out as a family and we truly our blessed with are extended family!

Selah with her 2nd cousin Sierra

Getting to hike with daddy.

Finn was not to be left out either so I carried him...it was quite a hot day for hiking and since Finn and I were so close :) we both were quite toasty!

Selah enjoying watermelon with daddy.

After hiking we got to enjoy an afternoon in the pool!

Finn of course slept through most of it. No pool time for him yet!

But he did get lots of snuggle time this weekend with everyone including Aunt Tiff.

Grandpa and Grandma G. A big thanks to them and Aunt Tiff for allowing Selah to sleep in their room so we could get some shut eye with Finn! The weekend couldn't have gone as smoothly as it did without out all their help!

And we survived the car ride! Aunt Tiff helped entertain Selah on the way out and she did sleep a little on the way home, but we are glad to be home. I don't enjoy riding in the car for an extended period of time and I think Selah gets that from me. Between Barney movies and stickers though we made it!

We also got to go to the Memorial Day parade, which lasted all of 15 minutes. But hey! Selah loved the fact that she got candy so it was all good :)

We also spent time taking flowers out to Laynie's grave as a family. We also want to honor Finn's birthfather who is in Iraq. We thank him for the sacrafices he has made in his life for our freedoms. We are so blessed in the country we live in! Hope you all had a great weekend!
