Selah is 2!

First off, I am now caught up in my blog world after some 4 posts in one day :) Things have been a little hectic around here lately, but well worth it in the end. Selah turned two on the 2nd and I am in denial of course. Seemed like just yesterday she was just diving into her butterfly cake and we were teaching her to say "one"! But now, she is talking a mile a minute and knows that at her party she will have balloons, and "cake" (strawberry shortcake), and will get to "blow candles".

This year we started off the party with pizza at our house with both sides of the family. Selah and Finn are so blessed that we have most of our family here close by that can share in these milestones with us.

Then Selah got to share her present with her cousins...her swingset! We were lucky enough that Tadd's cousin sells the amazing Hillside Hideaway swingsets and worked really hard this week to get it put together for Selah before her party. She talked all week about how she wanted to swing and slide with Addy and Brooks. Thanks Andy for getting it done - and to Chuck for his help too!

Getting these three to sit still long enough to snap a picture was an adventure. Especially Selah..are you kidding mom? I have to stop playing and look at you and smile..whatever!

Then it was on to cake and icecream. The theme of course was Strawberry Shortcake so the cake was her house. Selah was so excited to blow out candles. We even had to let her do it twice because she couldn't believe it was over so fast :) It was my first year doing a fondant cake so it is actually made with rice krispies so we ate a separate strawberry cream cake, chocolate and strawberry ice cream, and strawberry pop. Plenty of sugar to go around!

She got loads of gifts as usual some to include Hokey Pokey Elmo, a new Bible, Strawberry Shortcake, dress up clothes, MJ clothes, and a salon kit.

Of course Finn and Colt couldn't be left out of the festivities

Whenever I wonder if all the prepping and getting things ready was worth it...I will look at these pictures and know...Yes! Because seeing her laugh and giggle makes all the different. She was spoiled, yes.. But for as long as I am here I will pour out my love on her because she is worth every minute of my time and attention! I love you my sweet Selah!

Finn is 5 months old!

Time is flying by like it usually does, whether we like it or not. Finn turned 5 months as Selah turned 2. He is quite the little ball of action. He rolls all over to get to wherever he needs to go. Gone are the times of laying him down and expecting him to be there when you get back. Instead he rolls back and forth and turns this way and that until he is feets away from where you put him.

He is still sleeping through the night from about 9:30 till 7. He has it timed perfectly because then daddy can get up to feed him and put him back to bed until mommy and Selah wake up...I know, it is a rough life :)

He has begun to slobber even more..is that possible? You would think we would see a tooth one of these days. Usually you can find him with his fist, finger, or thumb in his mouth chewing away. His hair is starting to fill in more and maybe darken a little. We still have bets going to see if it will be like Selah's. Her hair filled in around 9 months and then went from stick straight to curly. Finn's seems to be the same way. Whenever it is wet it curls up. So we shall see :)

He is still the best baby, in our opinions of course :) Very well mannered and easy going. Selah still bugs him on occasion and now since he is grabbing toys loves to take them away from him. The other day I explained she needed to ask Finn and say please before taking a toy from him (even though he seems to care less) and give him a different toy to play with. So the other day I had to laugh as she walked up to him while he was playing and said "rabbit please", took the toy from him, and left. Poor Finn he just lays there and smiles at her. Hopefully it will last..Ha! I did catch them in a kodak moment although my camera was no where to be found...Selah had asked to hold Finn and so they sat there together with her arm across his neck and shoulder and she "read" him a book. He just layed against her smiling...it was too precious! I just love my kiddos so much!

So here are the latest pics of our growing boy...

Tanner's Orchard

We got to go to Tanner's Orchard on Sept. 27th. We had to cancel once because of the weather, but this day was perfect. A little cooler, but the sun was out. My mom went along and we met up with my cousins and their kids for the afternoon. I got a few pictures and then my camera battery went out...so email me some pictures girls of the rest of the day :)

Selah loved meeting the goats and getting to feed them. Last year she was a little timid. This year, not so much! She dove right in there and loved every minute.

Overall it was a great day! We can't wait to go back again. Although I think we gained some pounds after bringing home the yummy carmel apples, apple cider donuts, and apple cider!

A blast from the past...month that is!

I am so far behind on past pictures so here are a few from our Labor Day Weekend... amongst other things we had our first weiner roast of the season at Tadd's parents house filled with ladder ball games, tether ball, eating hot dogs, and roasting marshmellows. It was the perfect weather for it.

Capturing Moments

Nothing is quite as sweet as a baby sleeping...especially next to his daddy! I just want to be able to freeze these moments in time..
